Classes Inconsistency

Post by F-B »

Hello Tim!
I hope you are well! :)

I find some inconsistency with the classes, especially when it comes to diacritics.
For example, Ocircumflex, was inside right KO_B. See screenshot.

This is not the first I found the classes to be slightly off. I am having the same problem in the lowercase, so I ended up checking everything. (Which is fine, I just wanted to let you know).

Thank you!
Francesca

It seems you are mostly worried about the naming of the classes? Not sure I understand your problem but if B and O are in the same class then what should be the name of the class? It it wrong to call it KO_B?

B and O are not in the same class.
And Ocircumflex, should be in KO_O, not in KO_B.
I am not sure why KernOn put it there.

Working with KO, I actually think one of the problem is the way it classifies.
It should be working more with exception rather than classes.
There are unnecessary nuances between classes that generate inconsistency.

I believe the accents should be the same classes of the base component.
With the exception for the i, j, possibly.
Why would KO have different classes for accented Latin capitals?

Could the user control the sensitivity of the classification?
Or, even, have the option to set the classes manually?
Or be able to have the initial dialogue with the machine about the classes?
