Kern on deletes kerning pairs I want to keep

Post by Philipp »

Hello, hello,

I have once again given Kern On another try. I have to say, I have never come this far of being satisfied with the outcome. BUT(!) Kern On keeps deleting kerning pairs I have set up and I find that rather frustrating, to say the least.

So, for example I have set up a special kerning for the hyphen, endash and emdash, plus their .case derivatives. Before hitting the kern button everything seems to be working. As soon as I hit it, some pairs for endash.case, emdash.case disappear on the right while it’s still working on the left, not to mention everything works fine for hyphen.case. I’m not sure what I did wrong. I’m sure it becomes more clear with the images attached.

Another nagging construction side are a bunch of models for the kerning of dcaron, lcaron, tcaron I have set up. Some of which the final kerning does not keep / take over. Which is also very frustrating. Why can’t I keep the kerning pairs I have set up / want / work perfectly fine before hitting the kerning button?

Every help will gladly be appreciated! Thank you in advance!

This is strange. You mean, after pushing the Kern On button and finalizing the kerning, and then re-starting Kern On, some models are lost? In other words, the number of model pairs as shown in the bottom section is smaller than it was before pushing the Kern On button? This should never happen. Which version of Kern On are you using? Can you send me the .glyphs file?

I’m afraid the images, are in the wrong order. After finalizing the kerning and pushing the Kern On button some kerning pairs disappear.
I’ve just send you the mail with my .glyphs file.

I’m using Kern On 1.31 in Glyphs 3.2-3257.

Thank you for your help!
