Other scripts
Other scripts
Hi Tim. This looks very promising. Does it handle other scripts or just Latin?

Re: Other scripts
Today in TypeTech Tim talked about the way forward with some other scripts. So it sounds like it may a feature that is coming.

Re: Other scripts
Right now, Kern On supports Latin, Greek, Coptic, Cyrillic, Thai, Lao, Armenian, Georgian and IPA.
It’s very easy to add support for other scripts, though. If you are working on a script that you think can be auto-kerned, and it’s missing, just get in touch! We can then figure out which characters (rather, pairs) are necessary. I though that’s better than me just adding scripts I don’t know much about.
You can get an idea of how it works in the Under the Hood video at around 3:10.
I will soon add support for “bubbles” so that you can have several independent Kern On systems in parallel within one Glyphs file, each with their own models and autopairs. Seems that some scripts cannot be autokerned with models from another script. Plus, you can have a bubble for the manual kerning, if you have scripts (or simply parts of the glyph set) you don’t want autokerned.
