Glyphs crashing when "Kern On" is pressed

I have kerned a file, when I click the Kern On button it crashes Glyphs. It's also crashing occasionally when using normally. I haven't had this problem when working on other files so it's reasonable to assume it's something wrong with this one in particular. I have disabled all other plugins with no success. This file is a work in progress so isn't very complete, I would like to set some text with it though so kerning is necessary. Maybe I am missing some essential metrics? It seems to repeatedly crash on the first master it encounters.
